Does God Want Us To Fear Him?

God loves us, and that love is behind the laws and commands He has set in place for us. One of the first things we learn when we begin to understand God is that He hates sin, and that those who choose to practice it in defiance of His law will die (Ezekiel 18:4).  The more we keep the Laws of the Father, the more we really start to see his love for us. Regardless of what man may think, you cannot express true love for your neighbor or for the Father without obeying what is written in the book, which we call the bible. We discover that He gave us His good laws because He knows that following them will give us the best life possible.

What has happened to this world? Whenever there is major chaos, it seems to exist because people have lost the principle of how to treat their neighbor or how to love the Father. These two principles summarizes the entire bible. Our moral principles should be built around the Godly principles, which was the foundation for man’s existence. God gave the Law to reveal His standard of absolute righteousness to convict us all of our true guilt before Him, so that we would see our need for the gospel. (Matthew 22:36-40)

Because man has forgotten about God’s laws, they have become numb to his righteousness. Today, Pastors all over the Christian world, teach a doctrine that we are no longer obligated to keep the Law because Grace now saves us. The Law has never saved us, but it made us aware of our wrongdoing according to the standards of God. Romans 3:20 said …” no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

Because so many people of this world no longer fear the Father, they make life decisions based off their feelings rather than the word of God.  Often times, those that love the Father in his fullness seem to get the short end of the stick, feeling condemn and crucified by the unrighteous. Christ is encouraging the Saints saying “ In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. to be of good cheer (John 16:33). We should not worry about the condemnation from people of this world. When you love the Father and express your Love by keeping his commandments, the world will despise you (Luke 10:16). Because the Father is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy (Psalm 103:8), most take him for granted. It’s similar to a child taking cookies from a cookie jar when he or she is not supposed to. If that Child is never disciplined, they will lose the fear of committing that act and continue on doing it, thinking that it is ok. Man is the same way. Because most acts go unpunished for so long, man believes that he is safe in continuing in them. Ecclesiastes says it like this:

“… When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong. 12 But even though a person sins a hundred times and still lives a long time, I know that those who fear God will be better off. 13 The wicked will not prosper, for they do not fear God.”

Those that have no fear of the Lord will reject sound doctrine and will be denied entry into the Kingdom of Heaven. Our personal perceptions of what is right and wrong does not justify us as being righteous or unrighteous. The Father is the one who justifies us based off our actions towards his holy ways. The bible tells us that those that fear him will do what is right by keeping all of his Laws, statutes and judgements. It is impossible to have true wisdom without first fearing God (Proverbs 1:7).

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever! Psalm 111:10
