Letter From the Editor (December)

Dear Readers,

We have made it to the month of December, the month where the spirit of kindness, giving, helping, and joyfulness can be found in almost everyone you may come into contact with. This entire issue is dedicated to the holiday season, so get comfortable, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride because we are going to address some things that you probably had not even thought about.

Tis the season to be what? Jolly? Are you serious? How can the image of an old white-haired round man baring gifts, make us happy? Society teaches us that happiness cannot be found in anyone other than self. If that is the case, why do they continue to feed us with lies? If you choose to celebrate Christmas, why do you indoctrinate your children with the fabrication that Santa Claus brings them gifts? Why are you giving credit to a person that does not exist? Not only are you contradicting societies teaching, your teaching, but you are setting your children up for a lifetime of deception. We teach our children not to lie, but we continue to lie to them, talking about a great deception!

Let’s put Christ back in Christmas! Are you kidding me? When was he ever there as a person? Ummm! Never! It is a fact that the first six letters in Christmas is C-h-r-i-s-t, but that is the only way Christ is in Christmas.

For even hereonto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 1 Peter 2:21.

Christ never taught you to celebrate Christmas, as a matter of fact, the word Christmas is not even mentioned in the Bible. The celebration of Christmas was instituted by man and not by Christ. Society teaches us that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. How did they determine the date of his birth? The Bible never mentioned a date, it touched on the season of the year, and that was not winter. We are not even commanded to celebrate the birth of Christ. Could that be the reason why his date of birth was not stated?

We can see that Christ did not celebrate Christmas, and he did not celebrate the date of his birth. Well, what did he do? He left you an example, and being your perfect example, you should follow his steps. There are feast days that he did celebrate: God’s feast days that He established through His prophets. Now, if Christ kept those feast days, shouldn’t you, just a little something for you to think about.

Please enjoy the articles on the celebration of Christmas and birthday, which goes more in depth by tracing them back to their origin. Also, read the health article for this month. And as usual, check out Cris’s Corner, she has some helpful tips on how you can politely inform family and friends that you do not keep the celebration of Christmas.

Well, that’s all for now, I’ll chat with you again next month.
